Nancy Replies to Killarney's opening sally

In the Red Corner weighing in at three contracts NANCY M BELL and in the Green Corner weighing in at four contracts and your odds on favorite KILLARNEY SHEFFIELD.

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Nancy’s Version

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Muse
Not a creature was stirring not even Miss Lea
The formats were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that huge sales volumes soon would be there

The authors were nestled all snug with their keyboards
While visions of best sellers dance in their heads
And Lea in her kerchief and Litsa in her cap
Had just settled down for a long promo plan

When out on the ‘net there arose such a clatter
Lea sprang from her chair to see what was the matter
Away to the ‘puter she flew in a flash
Threw open the laptop and booted its ass

The moon on the breast of the new printed page
Threw a lustre of stardust to all Musers’ eyes
When, what to her wondering eyes did appear
But eight giant best sellers and one of them her’s

Little sweet Ginger, so erudite and slick
Followed so closely by prolific Mr. Nick
More rapid than twitters the sales forth they came
Lea whistled and shouted and called them by name

Now Fireborn! Now Harvest Moon! Now Santa is a Lady! Now Boys Upstairs
On Fallon O’Reilly, on Dino Trip too, on Ghost of Grover’s Ridge and Valentine Ball
To the top of the charts, to the top of Times
New York Times Best Sellers, that is! Now soar Musers soar!

As dry leaves before the Hurricane Warning fly
When they overcome an obstacle, mount to the top
So up to the best sellers the formats they flew
With a fistful of sales and the publishing house too.

And then in a twinkling I heard in the bank
The clinking and chinking of each little coin
Lea shook her head and was turning around
When in came the authors with chocolate in hand

They were dressed for a party from their head to their feet
Bearing offerings of goodies for Lea so sweet
A bundle of ouzo and some fruit of the vine
They set up the buffet with treats so devine

They ate and they laughed well into the night
The authors came in all sizes, the large and the slight
Too soon the time came to put the feasting on the shelf
Lea exclaimed as the authors all left
Merry Christmas to all and Be good to your elf.

Most excellent, Nancy! I loved 'threw open the laptop and booted it's ass'.

Very clever both of you!!!
