Nancy Responds with Good Queen Lea- publisher trumps cover artist HA!

Good Queen Lea

Good Queen Lea last looked out
On the feast of Amazon
Where the books lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the ‘puter screen
Though the glare was cruel
When an author came in sight
Gathering writer’s fuel

Hither Litsa, stand by me
If thou knowst telling
Yonder author who is he
Where and what his story
Lea he lives a good league hence
Underneath the mountain
Of rejection and remorse
Sent by other houses

Bring me ink and let me print
Words to fuel his Muse
Thou and I will see him write
When we send him email
Encouragement forth they sent
To ease the author’s anguish
Through the rude world’s wild lament
And the bitter rejection

Lea, the way is harder now
And the critics stronger
Book reviews, I know not how
They could be no wronger
Mark my words now dear Litsa
Listen to them boldly
Thou shalt find reviewer words
Wound the author lessly

In Miss Lea’s steps they trod
Where the print lay blackly
Help was in the words she wrote
Which the house has printed
Therefore authors new and old
Sales or not possessing
Ye who now will help the Muse
Shall yourselves find blessing.
