Meet Author Pat McDermott

Greetings from New Hampshire! I’m Pat McDermott, Boston native and frequent visitor to Ireland. I write romantic action/adventure stories set in an Ireland that might have been. My Young Adult novel, Glancing Through the Glimmer, is scheduled for a November MuseItUp release. This story will appeal to readers of all ages—as long as they love adventure with a touch of romance and a hefty wallop of mischievous fairy magic. You can read an excerpt on my Web Site.

At the moment, I have two e-books available from another publisher, and one of my short stories is available in print in the recently released anthology, The Mammoth Book of Irish Romance. In addition to my Web Site and my writing/travel blog, Put the Kettle On, I also have a cooking blog called Kitchen Excursions. Come on by!

I don't suppose your cooking blog can teach me how to cook, can it? LOL. It's my New Year's Resolution. Going to check it out...

hehehehe to Lindsay. I think I may join you in the cooking lessons. Mind you, I'm pretty happy not to have poisoned anyone in the 34 years of marriage so far.

Pat, told you once and will tell you again, I'm thrilled to have you join us at the Muse and can't wait for your book to come out.

Lindsay, if I, a nice Irish girl who didn't know the difference between cabbage and lettuce when she got married and whose mother fried everything in Crisco, can learn to cook, so can you. Think of it as another adventure! Will be interested in your progress :-)

Great to see you here, Pat. Your Guinness Stew is a knockout and so are your books. I can't wait to see your new YA book. That is a genre I can't write to save my soul and I admire those who can.

Hey, Penny. Let me know if you ever decude to go over there. I'll do my best to meet you in a pub somewhere!

Miriam, thanks so much for dropping by. Bet you could write YA if you tried. You're darn good at the genres you do write!

Pat thanks for sharing a bit about your life. Ireland has such a rich culture and mythical background. I grew up reading about the little people and Irish myths and legends. I look forward to reading your Muse book when it is released.

Hi Rosalie. I grew up with those legends too. They left me thinking there must be magic around!
