Introducing myself.

It’s wonderful to be a part of MuseItUp’s growing family of authors. Publication is always great and publication with people who give warm welcomes is even better.

For those who don’t know me, I’m a speculative fiction writer out of Edmonton, Alberta. I have a handful of recent writing credits plus a number of co-editing credits for Karma RPG supplements (Karma is basically an easier, less complicated roleplaying game using Dungeons and Dragons rules). Harvest Moon is my first e-story sale.

You’re welcome to follow me @ . I’m active on Twitter and Facebook as well. I hunt zombies in my spare time and occasionally post about that. Amongst other things!

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Welcome Krista. I'm already a Facebook fan. Congrats on the first e-story sale --just the start of many to come I hope.

Hi Krista,

I'm a newbie. My first story EVER, a Christmas story will be coming out around Dec. 1 2010, so any advice you all can give me will be greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to figure out how to reinflate my lungs from learning I actually got my contract.

I look forward to talking with and learning from everyone.

Congratulations! The first sale is always a wonderful feeling. Then again, a dozen sales in is still a wonderful feeling. There's plenty of milestones still ahead for you - first time you see your work published, first time in print, first time in a magazine, first review, first fan, first autograph...there's still lots ahead of you :)

Advice? Hmm. I'd have to say...Learn whatever you can about the business side (contracts, publishing trends, etc). Take feedback with professionalism, especially when you want to argue with the person. Remember to only ever compare your progress and success with your own goals; never compare your writing to another person. It will drive you insane.

I've forgotten lots but those are the biggies that, so far, have served me very well :)

Again, congratulations.
