Graveyard Cake

Graveyard Cake
(what ghouls and zombies love to eat!)

A package of chocolate cake mix
A package of Oreo cookies with chocolate centers
A package of Vienna cookies
Chocolate frosting
Green frosting
Candy corn and candy pumpkins
Gummy worms
Semi-sweet chocolate bits (optional orange, yellow and red sprinkles or decorations)
Cakes pans, sturdy plastic sandwich bags, a cookie tray, wax paper and scissors.

Make the cake (or cupcakes) according to package directions.  When it’s cool, bury some gummy worms in the cake by making a slit in the cake and stuffing the worm inside).  Frost the cake with chocolate frosting.  Break an end off a Vienna cookie to make a tombstone and stick a bunch of them on the cake in the frosting.  Wrap gummy worms around the edges of the cake and place some randomly throughout on the frosting.  Put some Oreo’s in a plastic sandwich bag and crumble them fine to look like dirt.  Sprinkle all over the cake.  Place candy corn and pumpkins at the base and some on top.
Cover a cookie tray with wax paper.  Place some chocolate bits in a sturdy plastic sandwich bag and microwave at ten second intervals until the chocolate is melted.  Be careful handling the hot plastic bag.  Cut a small corner tip off one end and drizzle the chocolate into four inch “Y” shapes with branches shooting off at the top.  Not too many branches, you don't want the tree to fall down!  If you have the orange, yellow and red sprinkles or decorations, put them on the branches before the chocolate hardens.  Place in the freezer until ready to serve.  Then peel the wax paper from the “trees” and place in the graveyard.
Pipe green frosting from a plastic sandwich bag with a corner tip cut off for grass at intervals and to stabilize the trees.
Enjoy your yummy gummy graveyard!

Stay tuned for Bloody Eye Punch coming up in a little bit here at MuseItUp Publishing blog!

Sounds delicious. At first I thought it was something Bonella was writing, but I doubt she'd even like it.

Hmmm, this might just please my ghoulish trio. Tide them over till they can hunt candy and hide from Shadowmen.

LOL, Roseanne and Diane! The buried gummies are really gross. ;) Especially when you cut the cake and the worms don't cut well and wiggle out. Eeeww...
